Key notes: Rattling of mucus with little expectoration is a very characteristic indication; great drowsiness, debility and sweat; nausea, vomiting; pale, sunken face; respiratory affections of children and the aged; tongue coated thick white with red edges; child clings to those about; wants to be carried.

Mind: Great despondency; fear of being alone; muttering delirium and stupor; child wants to be carried but cannot be touched; whines and cries if anyone touches it.

Materia medica indications — میٹیریا میڈیکا میں مذکور کیفیات

Head: Vertigo alternating with drowsiness; band-feeling in forehead; heavy head.

سر: غنودگی کے ساتھ باری باری چکر؛ ماتھے میں پٹی کا احساس؛ بھاری سر۔

Face: Cold, blue, pale, covered with cold sweat; incessant quivering of chin and lower jaw.

چہرہ: ٹھنڈا، نیلا، پیلا، ٹھنڈے پسینے سے ڈھکا؛ ٹھوڑی اور نچلے جبڑے کی مسلسل کپکپی۔

Stomach: Nausea, retching, vomiting, especially from food, with great weakness and prostration; craving for apples, fruit and acids generally; nausea produces fear; thirst for cold water, little and often; vomiting in any position except lying on right side.

معدہ: متلی، ابکائی، قے، خصوصاً غذا سے، شدید کمزوری اور نقاہت کے ساتھ؛ سیب، پھل اور کھٹی چیزوں کی طلب؛ متلی سے خوف؛ تھوڑا تھوڑا ٹھنڈا پانی بار بار؛ دائیں طرف لیٹنے کے سوا ہر حالت میں قے۔

Respiratory: Hoarseness; great rattling of mucus, but very little is expectorated; velvety feeling in chest; burning sensation in chest, which ascends to throat; rapid, short, difficult breathing; seems as if he would suffocate; must sit up; coughing and gaping consecutively; cough excited by eating, with pain in chest and larynx; emphysema of the aged; bronchitis.

نظامِ تنفس: آواز بیٹھنا؛ بلغم کی شدید کھڑکھڑاہٹ مگر بہت کم نکلے؛ سینے میں مخملی احساس؛ سینے میں جلن جو گلے تک چڑھے؛ تیز، چھوٹی، دشوار سانس؛ دم گھٹنے کا احساس؛ اٹھ کر بیٹھنا پڑے؛ کھانسی اور جمائیاں یکے بعد دیگرے؛ کھانے سے کھانسی، سینے اور حلق کے درد کے ساتھ؛ بزرگوں کے پھیپھڑوں کا پھیلاؤ؛ برونکائٹس۔

Back: Violent pain in sacro-lumbar region; slightest effort to move causes retching and cold, clammy sweat; sensation of heavy weight at coccyx, dragging downward all the time.

کمر: کمر کے نچلے جوڑ میں شدید درد؛ ہلنے کی ذرا سی کوشش سے ابکائی اور ٹھنڈا چپچپا پسینہ؛ دم کی ہڈی پر بھاری وزن کا احساس، مسلسل نیچے کھینچے۔

Skin: Pustular eruption, leaving bluish-red mark; warts behind glans penis.

جلد: پیپ دار دانے جو نیلگوں سرخ نشان چھوڑیں؛ مسے۔

Sleep: Great drowsiness; irresistible inclination to sleep with nearly all complaints.

نیند: شدید غنودگی؛ تقریباً ہر تکلیف کے ساتھ سونے کی ناقابلِ مزاحمت خواہش۔

Modalities: Worse: in evening, from lying down at night, from warmth, in damp cold weather, from all sour things and milk. Better: from sitting erect, from eructation and expectoration.
