Source: Savine (Juniperus sabina); family Cupressaceae. Plant kingdom.

ماخذ: سیوین (جونیپرس سبائنا)؛ خاندان کپریسیسی۔ نباتاتی دوا۔

Key notes: Has an elective affinity for the uterus; also for serous and fibrous membranes; hence its use in gout; pain from sacrum to pubis; haemorrhages where blood is fluid and clotted; violent pulsations; wants windows open; gouty nodes; condylomata (fig warts) with intolerable itching and burning.

Materia medica indications — میٹیریا میڈیکا میں مذکور کیفیات

Stomach: Heartburn; lancinating pain from pit of stomach across back.

معدہ: سینے کی جلن؛ معدے کی جگہ سے کمر تک چیرنے والا درد۔

Abdomen: Colic; bearing-down pain; drawing pain from sacrum to pubis; pain from back to pubis.

پیٹ: مروڑ؛ نیچے کو دباؤ؛ کمر کے نچلے حصے سے زیرِ ناف ہڈی تک کھنچاؤ۔

Rectum: Pain from back to pubis; constipation; haemorrhoids, with bright red blood.

مقعد و پاخانہ: کمر سے زیرِ ناف تک درد؛ قبض؛ چمکدار سرخ خون والی بواسیر۔

Urinary: Cystitis, with haematuria; burning and throbbing in region of kidneys.

پیشاب کے اعضاء: پیشاب میں خون کے ساتھ مثانے کی سوزش؛ گردوں کی جگہ جلن اور دھڑکن۔

Female: Menses profuse, bright; pain in uterus, shooting up the vagina; pain from sacrum to pubis and from below upward; uterine haemorrhage, partly clotted, worse from least motion; intense after-pains; leucorrhoea after menses, corrosive, offensive; discharge of blood between periods.

زنانہ اعضاء: زیادہ، چمکدار ماہواری؛ بچہ دانی میں درد جو اوپر کو جائے؛ کمر کے نچلے حصے سے زیرِ ناف تک اور نیچے سے اوپر درد؛ بچہ دانی سے کچھ جما ہوا خون، ذرا سی حرکت سے بڑھے؛ زچگی کے بعد شدید درد؛ ماہواری کے بعد کاٹنے والا، بدبودار لیکوریا؛ ماہواریوں کے درمیان خون۔

Extremities: Bruised pains in anterior portion of thighs; shooting in heels and metatarsal bones; arthritic pain in joints; gout; worse in heated room; gouty nodes; red, shiny swelling.

اعضاء (ہاتھ پاؤں): رانوں کے اگلے حصے میں چوٹ جیسا درد؛ ایڑیوں اور پاؤں کی ہڈیوں میں برق نما درد؛ جوڑوں کا گٹھیا؛ گنٹھیا؛ گرم کمرے میں بڑھے؛ گنٹھیا کی گانٹھیں؛ سرخ، چمکدار سوجن۔

Skin: Fig warts, with intolerable itching and burning; exuberant granulations; black pores in skin.

Modalities: Worse: from least motion, heat, warm air. Better: in cool, fresh air.
