Cannabis indica (Hashish)

Source: Indian hemp; family Cannabaceae. Plant kingdom.

ماخذ: بھنگ (کینابس انڈیکا)؛ خاندان کینابیسی۔ نباتاتی دوا۔

Key notes: Produces a remarkable mental exaltation, mainly affecting the mind and urinary organs; exaggeration of time and space; uncontrollable laughter; extremely forgetful; urinary retention; exhaustion after exertion.

نمایاں علامات: نمایاں ذہنی سرشاری، بنیادی طور پر ذہن اور پیشاب کے اعضاء پر اثر؛ وقت اور فاصلے کا مبالغہ؛ بے قابو ہنسی؛ انتہائی بھلکڑ؛ پیشاب کا رکنا؛ مشقت کے بعد تھکن۔

Mind: Excessive loquacity; exaggeration of time and space; time seems too long, a few seconds seem ages; a few rods immense distance; constantly theorising; anxiety, with great mental depression; very forgetful — forgets his last words and ideas, begins a sentence and forgets what he intends to speak; inability to recollect; uncontrollable laughter; delusions, hallucinations; fear of darkness.

Materia medica indications — میٹیریا میڈیکا میں مذکور کیفیات

Head: Feels as if the top of head were opening and shutting, and as if calvarium were being lifted; shocks through brain; involuntary shaking of head; occipital pain; violent shock in brain.

سر: جیسے سر کی چوٹی کھل اور بند ہو رہی ہو، کھوپڑی اوپر اٹھ رہی ہو؛ دماغ میں جھٹکے؛ سر کا بے اختیار ہلنا؛ گدی کا درد۔

Eyes: Fixed eyes; letters run together when reading.

آنکھیں: ساکن آنکھیں؛ پڑھتے ہوئے حروف آپس میں مل جائیں۔

Ears: Throbbing, fluttering and fullness; noises like boiling water.

کان: دھڑکن، پھڑپھڑاہٹ اور بھرا پن؛ کھولتے پانی جیسی آوازیں۔

Urinary: Urine loaded with slimy mucus; must strain; dribbling; stitching pain; has to wait some time before the urine flows; burning, scalding pain.

پیشاب کے اعضاء: چکنے بلغم سے بھرا پیشاب؛ زور لگانا پڑے؛ قطرے ٹپکنا؛ چبھن؛ پیشاب آنے سے پہلے کچھ دیر انتظار؛ جلن والا درد۔

Respiratory: Humid asthma; must stand up; chest oppressed, with deep, laboured breathing.

نظامِ تنفس: نم دمہ؛ کھڑا ہونا پڑے؛ گہری محنت والی سانس کے ساتھ سینے پر دباؤ۔

Heart: Palpitation awakens him; pain, with great oppression; pulse very slow.

دل: دھڑکن سے جاگ جائے؛ شدید دباؤ کے ساتھ درد؛ بہت سست نبض۔

Sleep: Very sleepy, but unable to sleep; dreams of dead bodies; prophetic, nightmares.

نیند: بہت نیند مگر سو نہ سکے؛ لاشوں کے خواب؛ ڈراؤنے خواب۔

Modalities: Worse: morning; from coffee, liquor and tobacco; lying on right side. Better: fresh air, cold water, rest.

کمی بیشی: بڑھتی ہے: صبح؛ کافی، شراب اور تمباکو؛ دائیں طرف لیٹنا۔ بہتر: تازہ ہوا، ٹھنڈا پانی، آرام۔
