Colchicum autumnale (Meadow saffron)

Source: Meadow saffron, bulb; family Colchicaceae. Plant kingdom.

ماخذ: سورنجان (میڈو سیفرن)، گانٹھ؛ خاندان کولچیکیسی۔ نباتاتی دوا۔

Key notes: Affects markedly the muscular tissues, periosteum and synovial membranes of joints; has a marked power of relieving gouty paroxysms; small joints especially affected; tearing pains, worse in evening and at night and from touch; parts red, hot, swollen; great prostration, internal coldness and tendency to collapse; effects of night-watching and hard study; nausea and even fainting from the smell of cooking food, especially fish.

Mind: External impressions — light, noise, strong odours, contact, bad manners — make him beside himself; pain makes him wild; memory weak; irritable.

Materia medica indications — میٹیریا میڈیکا میں مذکور کیفیات

Stomach: Nausea and vomiting of mucus, bile and food; worse motion and smell of food; great thirst; dry, burning tongue; distension of abdomen with gas; ascites.

معدہ: بلغم، صفرا اور غذا کی قے اور متلی؛ حرکت اور غذا کی بو سے بڑھے؛ شدید پیاس؛ خشک جلتی زبان؛ گیس سے پیٹ کا پھولنا؛ پیٹ میں پانی۔

Stool: Painful, scanty, transparent, jelly-like mucus; stools contain white shreds in large quantities; tenesmus, with spasm of anus.

پاخانہ: دردناک، کم، شفاف، جیلی جیسا بلغم؛ پاخانے میں زیادہ سفید ریشے؛ مقعد کے تشنج کے ساتھ زور۔

Urinary: Dark, scanty or suppressed; bloody, brown, black, inky.

پیشاب کے اعضاء: گہرا، کم یا رکا ہوا؛ خونی، بھورا، کالا، سیاہی جیسا۔

Heart: Great oppression; pulse thready; sharp pains; heart affections with gout.

دل: شدید دباؤ؛ دھاگے جیسی نبض؛ تیز درد؛ گنٹھیا کے ساتھ دل کی تکالیف۔

Extremities: Sharp pains down left arm; tearing pains in joints in summer, stinging in winter; joints stiff and feverish; shifting rheumatism; pains worse at night; inflammation of great toe, gout in heel, cannot bear to have it touched or moved; tingling in fingers.

اعضاء (ہاتھ پاؤں): بائیں بازو میں نیچے کو تیز درد؛ گرمیوں میں جوڑوں میں چیرنے والا، سردیوں میں چبھنے والا درد؛ جوڑ اکڑے اور گرم؛ جگہ بدلتا گٹھیا؛ رات کو بڑھے؛ انگوٹھے کی سوزش، ایڑی کا گنٹھیا، چھونا یا ہلانا برداشت نہیں؛ انگلیوں میں جھنجھناہٹ۔

Modalities: Worse: sundown to sunrise; motion; loss of sleep; smell of food in evening; mental exertion. Better: stooping.

کمی بیشی: بڑھتی ہے: غروب سے طلوع تک؛ حرکت؛ نیند کی کمی؛ شام کو غذا کی بو؛ ذہنی مشقت۔ بہتر: جھکنا۔

Relationships: Compare: Colchicine, Veratrum, Arnica, Ledum, Benzoic acid. Antidotes: Belladonna, Nux vomica, Pulsatilla.
